Family Recipe - Easy Fruit Sherbet RecipeIt's hot outside and this quick and simple sherbet recipe will be a quick way to cool off and bring smiles to you and your little ones. This simple and healthy sherbet will quickly become one of your summertime family favorites. It is made using frozen fruit and a blender. Yes, it's just that simple.
The great thing about this frozen fruit sherbet recipe is, the fruit can be switched out to whatever you like most; strawberries, blueberries, peaches, you name it. I'm a huge fan of strawberry or peach sherbet.

Refreshing Limeade
Updated: May 5, 2020
We’re quickly approaching hot temperature days in and if you’re like me, I’ll be on the hunt for a cool and refreshing summer drink that is family friendly. For those that know me, I love to cook and experiment to find a new family favorite. After purchasing and tasting several store-brand limeades, I always walked away with a disappointing after taste. Disappointment led me to the kitchen to create and find something I would like, and my family would love.
Updated: January 4, 2023 Quick Chocolate Chip CookiesHere in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland the weather has been brutal. Today, the kids were released early from school because of the cold temperatures and freezing rain. The College Football National Championship game coming on tonight and it's a perfect time for some quick cook. I usually bake these cookies when I want something sweet yet quick to bake and eat. Tip: Use a small ice cream scoop to form balls of dough, and they'll bake into gorgeous, perfectly round cookies every time.
Family Recipe for Homemade Apple Butter & Biscuits
Updated: May 22, 2020
Now that Thanksgiving is over, and the family Christmas tree is decorated it’s time for some holiday treats. The holidays are an exciting time for many families and it's usually a time where many families come together and bake. The aroma of cookies, pies, and cakes are everywhere. One of the most significant parts of the holidays is getting out old family recipes and reminiscing about the treats our mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers use to cook and bake. As a military family, I’m always looking for ways to recreate that feeling of being home; biscuits and apple butter can't get any closer. The biscuits can be prepared and eaten during breakfast or for dinner with a meatloaf and mashed potato meal.
In my free time, cooking and baking are some of my favorite things to do. My go to thing to make is homemade biscuits (recipe may be found here). Those warm steamy little pieces of bread...oh my gosh. And during the fall and winter, I like to make apple and/or pumpkin butter to accompany those biscuits. Both butters are simple and easy to make and are an excellent food item to have and eat during this time of year. |
