We’re quickly approaching hot temperature days in Northern Virginia and if you’re like me, I’ll be on the hunt for a cool and refreshing summer drinks that are family friendly. For those that know me, I love to cook and experiment to find a new family favorite. After purchasing and tasting several store-brand limeades, I always walked away with a discouraging after taste and a sense of disappointment. Disappointment always leads me to the kitchen to create and find something I will like, and my family will love.
Well, this led me to create my own freshly squeezed Limeade recipe. This family friendly beverage draws rave reviews from friends, family, and guests who visit our home. The star of the show is freshly squeezed limes and it's not overly sweet.
Let me tell you this quick funny story…this past November, we had family members come visit us in Northern Virginia. I mentioned to everyone I made Limeade to drink with dinner, but many wanted to taste it before dinner. After tasting it, (I’m not going to mention a name), but my Mom filled a cup with Limeade and placed it in the freezer (for "safe keeping"). When dinner was ready, she took the cup out of the freezer and top it off with more. Everyone got a big laugh! Since it was such a big hit; I made several pitchers of Limeade for my family during their visit. I believe I made at least two pitchers per day.
Fresh Squeezed Limeade is a delicious and wonderful alternative to other summertime drinks...lemonade and tea.
After completing a summer family portrait session, I like to drink a tall refreshing glass of Limeade as soon as I return home.
To bring this wonderful recipe to your family, visit here. This refreshing limeade is an easy summer drink perfect for your family. It’s a beverage you and your kids will enjoy and your family will thank you for making it for them.
