Composites or collages are so much fun to create. Flicker defines A composite Image is a picture that is made from the combination of multiple images merged into a single surface. You can view my other photos here. The pictures in this set are "constructed" creations. This technique often generates interesting and weird surreal effects.
Getting the best pose and controlling the light plays a pivotal part of the process, but really “playing” with an image after the fact to see what can be achieved is the fun part.
7-Year Old Milestone Portraits
What's not to like about birthdays...they are so much fun. Cake, balloons, presents; need I say more. In addition to all these great birthday traditions, a milestone photo session is another great way to remember yourself or your child's birthday. To celebrate Gray's 7th birthday, we had a portrait session in Old Town Alexandria.

Northern Virginia Family Photography | Woodbridge Virginia Family Photographer | Old Town Alexandria Family Portrait Session - Roach
Happy, fun, & lovable. These are just a few of the words that come to mind when I think of the Roach family. We headed to Old Town Alexandria & had a great time. Old Town Alexandria is one of those places that I never get tired of exploring. For the month of November, it was warm at almost 70°; making for a beautiful day to capture family portraits.
We had a few places in mind that we wanted to hit as we walked the streets of Alexandria, such as the waterfront, a few of the quaint alleyways, and of course the cobblestone paved street, but largely we just walked around, stopping to capture images where we felt inspired.
Needless to say they had a great time! I was so surprised because the children were having a hard time at moments. To help ease their discomfort, we stopped periodically to have a cheerios break before continuing on.
The temperature was 62°F - what is it February? We couldn't believe we were experiencing such great weather! However, it was great picturing taking weather for us. Old Town Alexandria, VA is such a beautiful city. It's situated next to the Potomac River with view of the United States Capital. Therefore with all of the beautiful surroundings it makes such a great spot for taking wonderful pictures. After such a great session, we all left hoping the warm weather would stay permanently.
