I never get enough of photographing promotion and retirement ceremonies at The National Archives in Washington D.C. This is a great location for a military ceremony. One of the biggest thing I pride myself on as a print artist and business owner, is providing my clients with wonderful products. I'm excited to share and announce that all of our prints from 8x10 and larger will now come with mounting. Mounted portraits are awesome!   Our portraits are mounted on Black Styrene. They are not affected by variations in moisture content in the environment and will remain stable even when they are are subject to large humidity. This helps to keep your portraits looking great for generations. Unlike portraits printed on traditional paper, mounted portraits will not warp or buckle. Mounted portraits are easier to handle for matting and framing. In comparison to the standard print thickness, there is no comparison. The mounted print will ensure great quality and leave you satisfied. We have included a side-by-side comparison of the portrait thickness. In addition to the mounting, our prints will still receive the standard pebble texture and the uv protective coating. Conservation is the primary goal for portrait mounting. Promotions are a happy time in the military member's career as well as for their families. It is an opportunity to celebrate and recognize their outstanding achievement in front of their family, friends, and co-workers. Ceremonies held at The National Archives are extremely different from a traditional promotion ceremony. Promotion ceremonies held in the Archives are different due to the location of the ceremony and the surrounds. It was held in the National Archives Rotunda. I have photographed in the Archives previously, but it's always breath taking. The Rotunda is home to the nations original birth documents - The Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and so many more. With the Constitution serving as the backdrop, Major Mittlemark new rank of Lieutenant Colonel was pinned on by his wife and mom. He was administrated the Oath of Office swearing to uphold the constitution; the very document behind him. Congratulations on your promotion to Lieutenant Colonel.
