How long of a session do I need?
Not sure how much time you need for your custom portrait session? You’ve come to the right place! We’re here to help you figure out the perfect length for your photo session. Many family photographers offer three slots of times: 30 minutes, one hour, and up to two hours. Portrait sessions that are 30 minutes versus two hours can be a huge difference for various reasons.
Why Maternity Photos Are Important
Even though pregnancy comes with a lot of difficult trials, it is an amazing time in your life. It is a time of celebration and, of anticipation to as you prepare to meet your little bundle of joy. It’s a time where you become strong – stronger than you ever thought you could possibly be. During this time, you create your initial bond with your child that will continue throughout your entire lives.
How Not to have A Mental Breakdown During Your Session!
Family Pictures; when you hear these two words what emotions come up? For some it may be excitement and yet for others it can be overwhelming and stressful. Having your family portrait taken is a great experience that you'll never forget. Family pictures help you create and remember fond memories of your loving family at each stage. However, many parents, especially Moms have stated this day can get very stressful and overwhelming. I want to ensure this feeling doesn't happen to you.
Did you know, If you’re stressed it will be on display in your portraits. I want your portrait experience to be filled with fun and your portraits to be carefree and full of fun. Here are some tips you can use during your family's portrait experience to help you relax and enjoy the moment:
Preparing Your Husband for the Portrait Session
Fall; that time of year when many families will be wanting to get their annual family picture taken. Will you be one of those family in the Los Angeles area looking for a family photographer to not only be patient with your children, but encourage your reluctant spouse to participate. Many, just maybe get a smile so the picture can be used for your family's Christmas card.
For some of us, preparing our husbands for the family photo session is as exhausting as preparing the kids. If your husband is happy-go-lucky about photo day, that’s excellent (count yourself blessed). If you’re dealing with someone who’s reluctant, however, then here are some things you can do to help:
Beverly Hills Photographer
I'm excited to announce I'm a new member of the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce. For photographers, we are often looking for ways to connect with your local community and engage with other business owners. One way to connect and grow your business is by joining your local Chamber of Commerce.
Last week, I took a step forward and joined one of my local chambers; Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce. Joining your local chamber is a great way to help other business owners and help them with their needs, wants, and achieve their dreams.
Cuban Link Jewelry
Earlier this month, I was contacted by a Los Angeles Jewelry distributor to photograph some of their jewelry pieces. As you can see by the picture below, it's a nice copper bracelet. The chain is weighty and a remarkable piece to wear.
Posing Tips for Family Pictures
With Covid-19 in full effect, many families or should I say Moms are hesitant to have family pictures taken. Why, you may ask? Many times as Moms, we're not comfortable with our weight and we surely don't want pictures taken of us (I totally understand; I'm right there with you).
We want to just have pictures taken of just our children (in reality it's another way to hide from the camera). What if you could have a family portrait where you can "hide" or eliminate those areas of your body you're not comfortable with showing?
#7 Benefits of Having A Portrait Session During A Pandemic
I just want to SCREAM! I know I'm not alone in this emotion. For many of us, myself included, I'm tired of being surround by these same four walls. I'm ready to venture out into our community to do things other than just grocery shopping. I guess I'm ready to get back to a sense of normalcy; kids going back to school, shopping at the mall, making places for family vacations, and the like. With everything going on, the only normal thing I can do right now that is normal is having a family picture taken.
Every 12-15 months, my family has a picture taken to celebrate the life of our family and to remember the growth and changes that each new year brings. With all the changes to our current environment, I started thinking about some benefits of having a family picture taken during this pandemic.
Hi, It's Me Again...Tamieka Smith
Hi, it's me again. Our families life today looks totally different from what it looked like back on January 1, 2020. Like most these last few weeks and months have been tough. It's been one of the most trying and toughest year I've ever experienced; the year started with the death of Kobe Bryant, the quarantine (COVID), the death of George Floyd, and so on. With so much free time on my hand and the inability to photograph families and business portraits for entrepreneurs, I have used this time to do some self reflection, spend time with family, try new food recipes, and build new relationships.
What does your headshot say about you?
Are you a business owner or entrepreneur reluctant to get a new headshot because you hate the stiff frozen look that doesn’t showcase your personality? Or the last headshot you took was over 2 years ago and you’re hesitate to get a new one because usually you “hate” the experience and you're not fond of the headshots or for us ladies our hair didn't look the best?
