Professional Portrait Restrictions Guide The portraits a professional photographer delivers to you are part of their life’s work. It has their name or branding so there are a few important restrictions to note when it comes to the professional digital images you receive.
What constitutes altering?
So why do we have these as restrictions? Our portraits are a representation of our work so when a client alters an image it directly impacts our name and brand in the industry. When we present you with final images, they have already been through our editing process and don’t require further alterations. When images are altered, the results are not always reflective of our original work and can then be mistaken for ours. We greatly appreciate your loyalty and cooperation in this matter. We are happy to give a quote if you want images to be edited in a specific way or if you want further alterations made.
I believe it's apparent and obvious I'm a military veteran and the spouse of a military member - we are a military family. So when I get telephone calls from fellow military spouses, I'm honored they've trusted Tamieka Smith Photography to photograph their special event and a promotion ceremony is no exception. The National Archives was the location for this wonderful promotion ceremony. It is one of the most popular locations to photograph in the Washington D.C. area for military families. The nation's founding documents are located in The National Archives. In addition, there are two murals of the nation's founding fathers on display in the Rotunda of the Archives. With all the nation's documents and the American Flag present, The National Archives is a wonderful location for any military promotion or retirement ceremony. National Archives Photographer  Are you confused as to when you should schedule your family's portraits? Children go through so many different stages in life, it's hard to determine the best time to photograph them professionally. Between work, school, after-school activities, church, and other functions, it's hard to chisel out time for family portraits. When I speak to clients about their last family portrait; on average it's been more than 5 to 10 years. So these are the most obvious questions. Should I have family portraits done every three months? Once a year?
Every year, parents receive notification from their child's school informing them Picture Day is coming soon. However, this notice isn't sent or received by parents who decide to home school their children. Yet they still would like to receive yearly professional portraits of their children. Traditional school students usually meet in the cafeteria or library in their school and sit in front of a green screen to have their portrait taken. Homeschool students have a great benefit, they can meet me at their desired location. As a family photographer, I'm able to capture not only their facial expressions, but also their environment. Like this young man, we meet at the Ashburn Library. We were able to pose him in different locations within the library. We had so much fun!  Home School Student Portraits I will be announcing a Homeschool Portrait Event this spring. I will have both morning and afternoon spots available. The location will be announced.
