When you visit your parents or grandparents homes, do you see framed portraits of your family members from generations past?
I remember as a young child visiting my grandmother's home and being able to see portraits of her, my grandmother's siblings, as well as her children. With the invention of digital cameras and social media, many parents do not have framed portraits displayed in their homes. Instead those precious keepsakes are stored on computers (that have a risk of crashing) and memory cards (may be lost and/or forgotten). We're living in a time where countless amounts of pictures are taken on a daily basis, however 5 years from now we will forget about our favorites! This is a tragedy!!!
Don't let this happen to you and your family!

Framing your photograph is the best way to preserve your photographic heirlooms. The National Archives explains: “Photographic artworks should be matted to museum standards using high quality matboard for the window mat and the back board.” Qualified, professional framers who understand techniques for mounting, matting, and framing ensure that your heirlooms last a life time. The National Archives’ stance on decorative store frames explains that frames without appropriate mounting and framing cause photo deterioration and destruction: ”Decorative frames, available at many stores, are appropriate for everyday snapshots. However, these frames either do not come with a mat or spacers to keep the photo from contact with the glass, or they use a poor quality acidic paper mat. Unfortunately, many unmatted photos have been damaged or permanently stuck to glass when fluid seeped between the glass and photo after the glass had been sprayed with liquid cleaner or beverages were spilled near the frame.” Click on the PHOTO BELOW to see additional options for framing with Tamieka Smith Photography. I am so excited to announce this new product - Fine Art Acrylic Prints! This is the most incredible finished gallery quality pieces I offer. This acrylic glass is extra-thick – 1" and will give your portraits remarkable depth and brilliance that will make an impact on any audience. The details of the portraits appear razor sharp.
This unique, acrylic glass enhances the luminosity of the print and gives it incredible depth and an almost 3-d appearance. Oh my gosh...I would venture to say this was the best family vacation we've had in a long time. It was the kids Spring Break so we decided to take full advantage of the time we were given. We began our vacation by visiting Gettysburg National Park. It was a very solemn area with a lot of historic buildings, statues, and a museum dedicated to time lining history. After leaving Gettysburg we traveled onto Hershey's Chocolate World. Chocolate here, chocolate everywhere! As soon as we entered the building, the smell of chocolate punched us in the face. I think I gained 10lbs just by entering the building.
