Upcoming Travels to Washington DC area - September 2022
Happy September! It's amazing to think, we're quickly approaching to final quarter of the year. Where did the year go? As we approach this time of year, many families will be looking for a family photographer to document those special photographic memories.
For those wondering when I'll be traveling to Washington D.C., this is for you. I'll be traveling to the Washington D.C. & Northern Virginia area two times this September 2022.
Story Box for Northern Virginia Family
Look at this beautiful Story Box! It was created for a Northern Virginia family. This handmade box is made solely of maple wood and it holds 25 matted portraits. The inside of the box has a box suede interior with the corresponding digital image to share with friends and family on social media or to email for those family members not on Facebook and Instagram.
Family Portraits at Manassas Battlefield Park, VA
Look at this beautiful family picture. This family looks amazing in their blue and yellow. Did you notice even the fire hydrant participated?
Earlier this year, Tiffany reached out regarding family pictures for her family. She wanted to ensure the photographs captured their family's personality and highlight their daughter. We started the portrait session in Downtown Manassas at the Amtrak Station. As we continued we walked along the streets of downtown.
Updated Album Leather Covers
With Covid and the impeding recession, it has been a lot of challenges with many manufactures as far as getting materials on hand and keeping them in stock. With that being said, many of the album covers that have been carried for years has been disconnected and new album covers options have been introduced. Many of client's favorite such as Texas Tea, Shameless, and Bad Bad Leroy Brown are still available.
A portrait print is a staple product from most if not all professional photographers. I'm within that count of photographers. With a catch, When I talk about professional portrait prints with clients, many have the perception of a portrait print similar to those you receive from a local big box or corner drug store.
These prints are totally different. The thickness of the portrait print is the first thing many families notice from the beginning. As you can see from looking at the picture below, it's not a sheet of floppy paper; it's a substantial weighted item. Many families place their portrait prints on an easel and display their family's picture on a coffee or end table.

It's Snowing | Northern Virginia Family Photographer
This week in Northern Virginia, we have been pummeled with inches of snow and the frustration of many being stuck on Interstate I-95 or in your home without power.
Snow is a great prop for winter family pictures. There are several different poses that can be done with family pictures in the snow. Continuing reading to learn some of the ideas.
Importance of Photographs with Dad
The week before Thanksgiving, Danny reached out to me to inquire about photography services for himself and his son. Because of the cold weather in the Northern Virginia area, we scheduled their portraits in a local studio in Fairfax, VA.
Upon entering the studio, the space was decorated with Christmas attire; lights, Christmas Trees, Pillows and more. It was ready for us to have a great time and make memories for Father and Son.
Family Pictures at Royal Lake Park
Have you heard of Royal Lake Park? It's a quaint little park in Fairfax County, VA. I haven't either until my client Dora, reached out about scheduling her family portraits and detailing this location for her family portraits in Northern Virginia. I was intrigued by the location based on what we discussed during our telephone conversation.
Family Pictures in Manassas, Virginia
Have you visited Manassas Battlefield during the fall? No?!? If you haven't, you must take a drive and go visit this amazing space. It is an amazing location to have family pictures. The park is full of history, tall grasses, beautiful fall foliage, and more. Making the Battlefield an excellent location for family portraits.
I was thrilled when Deb reached out to photograph her family photographed this fall in Northern Virginia. We decided to meet in Manassas at the Battlefield Park. Deb has three boys and they loved being photographed at the park. There is ample room to run around and have fun, climb on the canons, and more.
As we were taking portraits, the clouds in the sky was amazing (see picture below). We were able to get several amazing pictures of the boys having a great time. Deb will be able to showcase these amazing portraits in her family's home.
