It seems like many times guys are hesitant about portrait sessions, especially portrait sessions that are strictly about them. I think Michael might have been at first, too. However, his images show that it didn't take long for him to get comfortable for his Senior Portraits, and have fun! The key is to let guys stay masculine looking, and allow them to get comfortable in front of the camera. It's was great having Dad there as well to tell a few jokes.
We met in Manassas, Virginia at Manassas Battlefield Park. So we were surrounded by history and lots of canons. The park made a beautiful backdrop for his portraits. There are several fields with tall grass, old structures, and hills in the park. It was also great watching him interact with his dog. You can tell that they have a close relationship. Michael is truly a talented and a gifted young man and has offered many of his skills in playing several sports.

Updated: August 26, 2019 Family Portrait TipsThe weather is getting cooler and the leaves are beginning to change colors which means we are in the beginning stages of Autumn. Autumn is a busy time for many families and photographers because it's a beautiful time of year, especially in the Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland area for family pictures. Many families use this time of year to not only capture the wonderful scenery, but also to photograph their beautiful families and use those portraits to share with friends and family on Christmas cards.
A few months ago, Thomasena contacted me wanting to determine my availability to photograph her husband's promotion ceremony and party that would follow. Since I was traveling to Little Rock, AR at the time we played telephone tag for a few hours. We were finally able to speak over the phone and we arranged a day and time for us to get together to speak about her wishes. I'm so glad we were able to get together and I was able to photograph such a special moment.
Navy Promotion Ceremony: Commander TessierEarlier this year, Mary contacted me to determine if I was available to photograph her husband's promotion ceremony at The National Archives Museum in Washington D.C. and I'm so glad and was extremely honored to photograph their special day. When I arrived, I photographed the outside of the museum and the statues in front of the museum.
