Congratulations to U.S. Air Force Captain Kent for her recent promotion to Captain! Promotion ceremonies are a time when families members and the promotee's co-workers come together to celebrate a wonderful time in the career of the military member. Capt Kent's promotion ceremony was held at the ultimate location for a special occasion for military members being promotion. The ceremony was held in the Rotunda beside the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution at the National Archives in Washington, DC. Capt Kent was surrounded by family, friends, and co-workers as she recited the Oath of Office and pinned on her new rank by her family members. Thank you for your service and dedication to our country Capt Kent! I was recently contacted to photograph a family and one of the first questions asked was how many pictures will you take and I receive. Photographer X will charge $150 for a mini-session and I will receive 100 images. Well may I ask a question? What is more important, the amount of pictures you receive or their quality? Compared to many photographers, Tamieka Smith Photography offers a select amount of portrait to display to our clients during their ordering/viewing sessions (reveal). This allows us to look at all the images taken during your session and edit only the best, rather than take give you 100 images that are low in quality (eyes closed, blurry, etc.). A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing these three siblings in one of Woodbridge, VA gorgeous neighborhoods. We decided to meet at the clubhouse. As you can see they were surrounded by beautiful trees and a gorgeous pond. They wanted to gift their Mom and Grandma with beautiful portraits of themselves for Mother’s Day Gifts. From the beginning, there was an instant connection between the three of them and the camera. I knew this was going to be a perfect gift for their Mom.
