It’s Monday afternoon…the first Monday of June. Which means the kids in Northern Virginia are getting out of school and are ready for summer vacation. This is the time of the year when many families are looking for activities and places for our children to go during the day while we’re at work. I’m excited to share this post, because I was looking for fun activities for my children to do this summer as well as looking for a location for our summer vacation. Being a part of the military community, I know many of my readers will be able to assist and provide valuable information about the topics I will be sharing today.

WHAT I'M WORKING ON
I’m really excited it’s the month of June. It’s the last week of school for my kids and they are ready and excited about getting out of school and going on summer vacation. They’re extremely excited because we’re going to Paris. This will be our first European vacation as a family. Yes, a European vacation…what could top this? Maybe some great food! Ever since we schedule this family vacation, I’ve been thinking about all the different foods I’ll get to eat…croissants, chocolate, macarons, profiteroles, and steak frites. I’m starting to get hungry by thinking about it. Have you visited Paris previously? If so I would love to get your recommendations on places to visit and things to eat. I would love to receive any insight you may have. In addition to looking for restaurants to visit, I working on hiring a photographer for our family. Many families look to bring souvenirs back from vacation. However, instead of purchasing souvenirs we take family pictures. We've found this a great way to remember our vacations. Below are some examples of the different locations (our souvenirs) we've been and brought back home. So i'm in the process of looking for a photographer to hire to take pictures of our trip. This way will have visual memories of our trip.
What are your family's plans for summer vacation? Will you be staying in the Northern Virginia area or will you and your family be adventuring out to other cities/states?

THINGS I'VE GOT COMING UP
As summer vacation is quickly approaching, I will be out of office June 12- 21. I will have extremely limited availability to take telephone calls, but I will be able to respond to emails. If you need to contact me to schedule a family portrait session or schedule an event, you may email me at [email protected] or schedule your portrait session online here.
SOMETHING I'VE LEARNED RECENTLY
I enjoy taking my children to the theater. Fortunately, I recently learned there is a theater (Riverside Center) in Northern Virginia I can take the entire family to see a play. During the summer months Charlotte's Web will be in production. The reason I like this theater, when purchasing a ticket it not only comes with the ticket to see the production, but also a meal. Yes, a meal! These are some pictures I took when we went to go see Pocahontas for spring break.
