A few weeks ago, I started the series "What's in your photography bag". This series is intended for photographers or those inspiring to become photographers. This is one of my most favorite lenses for close up detail images. A great example would be for wedding photographers; this would be great for taking images of those bride and groom’s wedding rings. As a wedding photographer, you can start your day off by photographing the special items of their memorial day. Or if you’re a newborn photographer, it would be great to photograph the lips of a baby or their little eye lashes.
I also use this lens for taking close-up images of the newest products I offer to my photography clients. It allows me to get super close to my products and blur out (bokeh) any details I don’t won’t to focus in on.
Although the Canon 100mm 2.8L is known for capturing close-up shots, it is also great for capturing family portraits. However, I would recommend using it with families that have older children.
Isn’t it beautiful? Now you see why I love this lens and why it’s my go to lens for close-up detailed images. For the family photographers considering whether or not to purchase this lens, I hope this blog post is helpful to you and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to leave a comment below or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hello, I'm Tamieka, owner of Tamieka Smith Photography. I would love to help you plan your family's sunset portraits in Northern Virginia (or surrounding area) or photograph your military ceremony — possibly both. Working with families and military members is my specialty. I hope you'll look at my recent work and all that’s available for you. I hope we're able to work together and I’m able to document your family’s history.
