Air Force Promotion Ceremony at The U.S. Capitol
Last month, I had the honor of photographing Colonel Veeder's promotion ceremony at the United States Capitol building on the Speaker of the House balcony. It is a beautiful location as the balcony overlooks the National Mall in Washington D.C. In addition, the Washington Monument is in the background. That morning, there was an inch of snow on the ground, which provide a white ground surface.
As we arrived, we went into the Rotunda of the Capitol Building before heading to the balcony. In the picture above, you can see how memorizing the Rotunda is. The colors are so bold and distinct.
Major General Cornish, spoke highly of Colonel Veeder and his military service and why it was a joy to be a part of his promotion ceremony as the Presiding Officer.
Colonel Veeder was surrounded by people who love and support him like his friends and family.
The area was called to attention for the reading of the promotion orders, the pinning on new rank, and followed by being administered the Oath of Office.
