All wedding photos are the same. Or at least, they have the same goal: deduct all traces of stress and capture the one shining moment in between a gaggle of bridesmaids, ushers pounding on the groom's back, and in-laws! Did I mention in-laws? Engagement photos are the business, though. We're surrounded by several beautiful locations possibilities in Northern Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland.
There is a measure of control available to the photographer, and more importantly, the couple. For the couple, the pressures of wedding day are still coming, imagined, can be turned off temporarily to sit for a good picture. For me, capturing you as a couple, in a moment of almost privacy, silliness, anticipation, collects easily in the lenses. It's like: "oh hey, we're gonna be married in a few days. Got to impress family. Oh God! That's another day's headache, babe. Today's it's just us and Tamieka Smith. We can do this."
Engagement photos are dreamy.
Wedding photos are generally about family more than the couple.
Engagement photos are specific, intimate, more about the couple than anyone else.
Now let's put those four pictures in a portrait. Better yet, schedule a portrait session consultation to discuss your wishes! Reading this? Make like Carly Rae Jepsen and call me, maybe. Seriously, call me, I would love to speak with you about your engagement and wedding portraits.
