National Archives - DeFor

What a beautiful family!  The Defors gathered at The Special Event Entrance of The National Archives Museum in Washington D.C. for a Commander DeFor's Navy Promotion Ceremony.  For many that live in and near the nation's capital know we're in the middle of a heat wave, because of this, we decided to take family portraits before the ceremony.  Although we couldn't run from the humidity, we walked to the top of the stairs to avoid the sun and captured this beautiful family portrait.       

It was a beautiful blue sky day in The Nation's Capital and a wonderful time to catch up with friends and co-workers.

Prior to going into the museum, Commander DeFor's wife ensure her husband was ready for his big moment.

While his family looked on, the Presiding Officer discussed and highlighted the significance of Commander DeFor's military career.

In addition to this being his promotion ceremony, it was also his birthday.  Which lead to a spontaneous singing of Happy Birthday.

Commander DeFor took the Oath of Office and his family was called forward to pin on his new rank.

Commander DeFor's wife and eldest son was called forward to place on his new rank of Captain.

Congratulations Captain DeFor on your promotion.  I wish you, your beautiful wife, and family continued success with your military career.
