Congratulations to one of the Air Force newest Lieutenant Colonel - Lieutenant Colonel Baker. Last week, Lt Col Baker contacted me to determine my available to photograph her promotion ceremony that was being held at the National Archives Museum in Washington DC. I was honored she considered me to photograph her ceremony. We were all glad the temperatures had risen since last week. Lt Col Baker's family, friends, and co-workers were able to talk and look at the Washington Memorial (which can be seen at a distance) while waiting for the beginning of the promotion ceremony. It was a beautiful winter day in the nation's capitol. A great moment for family and friends to see one another. Once inside the Rotunda of the National Archives, Lt Col Baker's guests were able to look at the original documents of the United States. These documents include the Constitution and The Bill of Rights. Did you know you can see one of the founding father's hand-prints on one of the documents? I always wonder whose print it could be. The promotion ceremony was called to order and the Presiding Officer began to speak about Major Baker's military career and how she arrived to her promotion to Lieutenant Colonel. Once the promotion orders were published and Lt Col Baker's sister and fiance pinned on her new rank, she was administered the Oath of Office in front of the Constitution while her friends, family, and co-workers looked on. Lt Col Baker thanked her friends, family, and co-workers for attending her promotion ceremony and express how her success is a from their help and support. Lt Col Baker was able to celebrate the awesome Air Force military career milestone with one of her sisters. Congratulations again on your promotion Lt Col Baker.
