Air Force Retirement Ceremony at Andrews AFB
When a military member first enlists or receives a commission, retirement isn't the first thing that comes to mind. It's usually how am I going to get through Basic Military Training (BMT) or Officer Field Training. However, retirement seems to sneak up on military members; especially when you're having such a great time and enjoy serving and protecting the country you love.
This is the case for Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Hook. Lt Col Hook began his military career as an enlisted member and then later received his commissioning as an Air Force Officer. His service took him to several locations throughout the world, but he and his wife decided to bring his service to a conclusion at Andrews AFB, Maryland. Many of Lt Col Hook's family members came to celebrate his military retirement as it's a time of transition and such a momentous occasion.
Once the official ceremony was completed, Lt Col Hook and his family greeted and thanked everyone who was in attendance and took time to take pictures with friends.
