And that's why we're so excited to invite you to join us as a part of our Fabulous 50 project!

What is the 50 over 50 Project (Fabulous 50)? I’m glad you asked.  It’s a celebration of women that are 50 years of age and older.  I want to showcase your wisdom and most importantly your beauty.  Yes, you are still beautiful!

Are you a woman 50+ years of age? Join us for the 2023 50 over 50 Project by Tamieka Smith Photography.
We are looking for 50 fabulous women wanting to have fun and feel appreciated for your age and beauty.  You may be residing in Northern Virginia or the Los Angeles area.  Let’s break up the monotony of taking care of everyone else and let’s celebrate you.  

​We’ll be celebrating you with photographs and telling your story through those photographs.  Who are you now?  Do you like to roller skate?  Sit on the couch with stretchy pants?  Maybe you’ve joined a sorority?  Whatever it is, I would love to feature you and tell your story.  

Let's celebrate your lives, your families, your accomplishments, your challenges, your choices and what you have learned from them all!

As women, we usually put everyone else first.  Which is a determinant to us.  Why do we do that?  I want to invite you to put you first for a change.  If you’re in the Los Angeles or Washington D.C./ Northern Virginia area, let’s schedule your beauty portraits and show the world you’re still fabulous at 50+ despite what the media attempts to portray.    It’s time you gave yourself a little bit of love and appreciation.  It's time to treat ourselves with respect and kindness by taking time out of our busy lives to do things that make us happy.

Doing things that make us happy can be anything from baking cookies or making dinner, going on a hike, or spending some quality time with our friends and family. Creating new memories will become part of who we are as people, which is why it is so important not only for your mental well being but also physical health as well! When we surround ourselves with positive energy it spreads outward into the world around us like wildfire spreading across plains during summer months here in America; therefore, creating a world filled with nothing but happiness & good vibes! This will allow everyone else around them (including yourself) to live happier lives as well."

Celebrating who you are at all ages is an important part of the process to take control of your life. Telling your story and sharing it with others is equally if not more important. Having photographs to remember the good times and bad times, along with those in-between moments helps you keep a record of where you have been and how far you have come.

There's so much pressure on women these days, especially young ones who may feel like they need to look perfect every waking moment of their lives - but we don't! We are strong and beautiful just as we are right now; there's no need for anyone else telling us otherwise because they're wrong!

​Author's point of view that beauty doesn't diminish with age
I have always been a big proponent of age being just a number. And, that’s because I believe that beauty doesn't diminish with age. Beauty is not skin deep; it goes much deeper than that. At the end of the day, beauty is not just about how you look on the outside—it also comes from within and even more importantly, how you feel about yourself inside.

Most people think that once you hit 50 years old there are no more opportunities left for you to enjoy life and feel beautiful again, but this couldn’t be further from the truth! The fact is if we are feeling good in our own skin then we will always look good too! It's important to remember what makes us beautiful isn't something vain like our physical appearance but rather being happy with ourselves at any age will naturally give us confidence which shines through both inside and out!

I'm two years away from 50 years of age right now but I still feel as young as ever because I'm aware there's so much more ahead for me—and all those other women who may be approaching their fiftieth birthday (or even younger!). Life is long so why not make each day count?
