Accordion Book for Birthday Celebration
Your birthday is a great opportunity to have a portrait session to celebrate your birthday. Earlier this year Blossom contacted me regarding photographing her for her 21st birthday portraits. We discussed the desired location for her portrait session as well as her wardrobe based on her portrait location.
We met at Malaga Cove Plaza for Blossom's portraits. We took many amazing portraits, that Blossom had a difficult time selecting the best portraits for her accordion book.
How to look your best in pictures
As a professional photographer serving the Los Angeles and Northern Virginia/Washington DC area, I hear a lot of clients dreading taking an updated family portrait because of the fear of how they will look. However, it's nothing to be scared or fearful to do. At some point in life, we all go through some sort of hesitance of getting in front of the camera. Unfortunately, we live in a time when cameras are found everywhere; including our phones. With a few pointers, the next time a camera is seen will not need to find the nearest exit or escape the area!
Marketing for Photographers
As a family photographer that moves constantly because I’m a part of a military family, I rely heavily on marketing my business before I move to the new area, especially after moving from Woodbridge, VA to Torrance, CA. So, when I arrive in my new area in Southern California, the marketing I’ve put in before arriving helps to get new clientele for my photography business. I’ve used all of these marketing tips I’m sharing in this blog post, plus many more that are in my Marketing eBook.
Boy, marketing is a hard pill to swollen…there is just so many ways to market your photography business to drawn in your ideal client in your city, but where does one start?
I’m glad you asked. Marketing can be a tricky business especially for photographers. We like to rely solely on social media, but is that were your ideal client is hanging out? You want to get in front of your ideal client, but where are they?
Carrigan and Caramel Military Album
I'm obsessed with this album. It was designed for a military family that held a promotion ceremony in Arlington, VA. It's a wonderful album mixed with two different premium leather - Carrigan and Caramel. The leathers are a great combination of luxury and classic.
This heirloom album was created and designed for a military promotion ceremony in Northern Virginia.
Headshots About You
As a business owner or entrepreneur in Los Angeles and surrounding areas, you'll need a business portrait also know as headshots. It is your visual calling card and many of your prospective clients will look at your headshot to determine if they would like to hire or work with you.
So what does your business portrait say about you?
They Grow Up Fast
Ok...I'm sitting over here wondering where has the time gone. It seems like yesterday, I was bringing this fellow home from the hospital. Now I'm hearing him talk about what college he wants to attend next year. What happen? Who can relate?
Business Portraits (Professional Headshots) in Marina del Rey
Last month I had the pleasure of photographing professional headshots in Marina Del Ray. The location was amazing because of the beautiful scenery. The park is great due to the boats in the vicinity as well as the shrubbery, and the seals that like to bathe at the pier. It was particularly windy on this day. Which was great because it was a built-in hair blowing day.
Is Blogging Dead?
Is blogging worth your time and effort as a photographer? Is it something you should invest in doing or work on another type of marketing for your photography business? Let’s talk about it.
Over the last few days, I’ve seen various posts in different Photographer groups on Facebook at blogging and wondering if blogging is dead. The conversation usually diverts to SEO (Search Engine Optimization), when to blog, how to blog, and various other questions. So, in this blog, I wanted to address the importance of having an active blog on your website. Your website can be a valuable space for your followers and other people looking for information that you will be providing based on photography issues, sessions you've photographed, personal information about your life, and other information you think your viewers would find valuable.
Yes, blogging also helps your photography website climb higher on Google's ranking.
SEO Tips for Photographers
One of the biggest things I can say that has contributed to the success of my photography business is SEO (Search Engine Optimization). I've moved several times and with moving comes the need to restart the process of finding clients. I've had so many photographers reach out asking for help with SEO. So last year, I had the opportunity to sit down and write an SEO ebook for photographers.
I wrote the book because I wasted so much time attempting to get my photography website to the first page of Google with little success. So every time I made a change to the metadata and behind the scene information for my website, I would write it down to annotate what was working.
Tamieka Smith Photography is Coming to Northern Virginia
Did you happen to see the live announcement made last Friday on Facebook? I will be traveling to Northern Virginia/Washington DC to photograph all the beautiful families that have been wanting to be photographed by my studio this spring. Washington DC and Northern Virginia is such a beautiful location in the spring for family pictures. With the Cherry Blossoms and other beautiful blooms it's a great location for that magical picture.
Have you been wanting to get your family's picture taken, but you've been hesitating or resisting because you've picked up a few pounds during the Covid-19 quarantine? I got you! As a Mom, myself, I understand we can be insecure about our appearance and weight. So, I'll pose you so you'll be comfortable in your skin and ready to let your inner self shine through.
