Northern Virginia Couple celebrates 50th Wedding Anniversary
Happy New Year,
It’s amazing to look back upon 2018 and reflect upon the different families I had the honor to photograph last year in Northern Virginia. As a family photographer, it’s always an honor when families contact me to photograph their legacy. This past year, I received a telephone call from Claudia wanting to have 50th wedding pictures taken. Photographing this couple is a highlight for me.
Happy New Year!!
It's hard to believe the year 2018 is coming to a close in less than four hours. Where did the year go? I'm so grateful so many Northern Virginia families and military members trusted me to photograph your family memories and military ceremonies.
I hope your New Year is filled with family, friends, and fun. I pray your 2019 brings you endless love, joy, laughter, and memories. Here’s to a great year to come!
Sending Christmas cards to family and friends is like an unspoken tradition across the United States. It doesn't matter where you live, many people look forward to receiving christmas cards from family members and friends you may not have seen in a while. This is especially exciting for military families, as we are typically servicing (OConus or Conus) in areas away from our immediate and/or extended families. Have you taken your family's portrait to send out your latest Christmas card?

It's amazing to see how fast this year seems to be going...it's Thanksgiving next week. What are your plans? Will you cook an extravagant meal with a Turkey and all the fixins for your family? If you're a military family, will you be traveling back home to spend time with your extended family?
I'm thrilled we'll get an opportunity to experience the new F.A.O. Schwarz during this holiday season in New York City (see video below); as well as all the other things/places New York City has to offer for the holidays.
For today's Friday Fives, I wanted to share five reasons why I'm thankful. Just a quick glimpse of the news and it's a quick reminder to be grateful and thankful. Here are my top five reasons I'm thankful.
A Salute to Military Veterans
On this Veterans Day, I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has served and is currently serving. This country honors and thanks you for your service. In 1918, World World I came to an end and Veterans Day became a national holiday to honor all of those who give of themselves. As the daughter of a Veteran, a Veteran myself, and a spouse of an Air Force Officer, I honor you!

Fall Family Portraits in Northern Virginia
Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year especially in Northern Virginia. It’s my favorite because when you step outside you feel the crispness in the air and the smell of wood burning in the fireplaces. In addition to the crispness, the color on the trees come to life with beautiful oranges, reds, browns, and yellows. When the wind blows, leaves begin flying in the air making for an amazing family portrait.
National Adoption Month
Did you know November is National Adoption Month? Many of you may not know, but I'm an adoptive Mom. Yes, my husband and I adopted our youngest son almost ten years ago. Like many couples we struggled with infertility. From the start of our marriage, we always wanted to adopt a young child, but wanted to have our biological children first. However, God had other plans.

5 Reasons to have your Family Photographs in Washington D.C.
In this week's Friday Fives, I'll discuss five reasons why having your family pictures taken in Washington D.C. is a wonderful idea. Living this close to Washington D.C. has its privileges; especially when it comes to taking family pictures.
Washington D.C. is such a beautiful place regardless of the time of year. When it's spring the Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom and make for a beautiful background for your family's spring portraits; and during Autumn, the foliage on the trees are amazing. If you're a part of the military community, having your family's portrait taken in Washington D.C. will also be a great way to remember you were stationed in the Washington D.C. area.
