we all scream for ice cream!
The sound of an ice cream truck signals the start of summer.
The results are in! The Shoot and Share Photo Contest opened for portrait submission at the beginning of the year and I wasn’t missing out this this time. I put on a brave face and submitted several of the portraits I took in 2016. I was so in love with so many images I took last year that it was hard to narrow it down to just 50, but I did it and was all in for 2017!
Why are Mommy and Me portrait sessions important? The bond between a mother and her child(ren) is unlike any other, one that can be beautifully captured with a camera. But if you’re anything like me, you’re always the one behind the camera in family photos and hardly ever in them. That's why I hire a professional photographer myself to have my own professional family portraits taken and I attempt to relax and enjoy the portrait session. Traditional Family Portrait session also tend to focus more on the kids and I hardly ever get to capture moments of us being ourselves.
Winter Wonderland Photography | Northern Virginia Photography | Woodbridge Family Photographer3/14/2017 We finally got our first and probably our last BIG snowfall for the year in Northern Virginia. Some people got as many as more than a foot of snow. So why not capture your kids in the beauty of a winter wonderland. Forget the white seamless paper – use snow to create an amazing portrait of your child(ren). Snow can serve as a great backdrop for this, but it must be evenly lit and most importantly, WHITE. One of the biggest things I hear about snow portraits from fellow moms is the snow was yellow or blue.
Spring has arrived in The Northern Virginia area. If you've taken a ride or walk around your neighborhood, you will notice a lot of white and red blooms on trees (and tulips in my neighborhood). Just yesterday, The National Park Service in Washington D.C. released the Peak Bloom dates for the Cherry Blossoms. Do you know what that means? It's time for warmer weather and we get to begin adding lots of fun and vibrant colors to our wardrobes again. As a family photographer I'm often asked for clothing recommendations, so I've decided to blog and suggest a few recommendations for upcoming spring portrait sessions in the Northern Virginia area. I'm always happy to assist and provide guidance on clothing recommendations. We can schedule a consultation to discuss your wardrobe ideas or you are welcome to call my studio.
