Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer Another beautiful day at Tamieka Smith Photography. Meet baby Emma! She is such a sleeping beauty. She slept virtually the entire portrait session; even when we incorporated Mom, Dad, and big sister.

The love and happiness is written all over this Dad's face. This Dad was so excited about having portraits taken with himself and his new son. We met at Quantico Marine Base in Virginia for their portrait session.
Why You Should Update Your Family Portraits? At Tamieka Smith Photography, we love to help families make memories that will last for generations. These portraits will be able to preserve the youth of your children just after their born, your parents on their 50th anniversary or your graduation from high school. Family portraits can be kept for generations. Children grow quickly! Family members move to different states. There are various reasons why updating your family portraits should be done periodically. Documenting the growth and change in a family is particularly special and should be done at least every other year, if not sooner. This ensures you preserve your most precious memories with the people who mean most to you. Although we would like to have family portraits done, we come up with the normal excuses why we should wait: I need to lose weight; Money is tight; we might add to our family next year. The list goes on and on. This article is designed to talk about the reasons why you should update those portraits right now. It’s been a few years (or decades) since your last family portrait We’re all guilty of it. Life gets busy, and before you know it, that family portrait hanging on the wall is more than 10 years old. Even if it’s been only a few years, I am willing to bet something has changed since your last family portrait session. You’ve added new family members
A new baby, adoption, fostering, marriage, or even a new furbaby – it’s time to capture these new members of your family and celebrate them. It’s a well-documented theory that families who see their portraits displayed in their homes feel a closer bond, and children who see their portraits feel more loved and cherished. Congratulations! Baby’s first year is an exciting time. Whether you already have the bundle of joy in your arms, or you waiting for him/her soon, there are so many things to look forward to in the first year. The first smile in response to your voice or sight, typically happens around two months of age. Wait 2 more months, or about 4 months of age, and you will hear the laughter that will bring immense joy to your heart. At 6 months, you can expect them to sit up, and at 8 months, crawling around the house with such speed that you might call the little one your trainer. Seems a lot, right? But each and every moment is exciting and fun.
At Tamieka Smith Photography, we love capturing the journey of a little one as they progress through the year. We provide several options for baby’s 1st year photography sessions so you can have these memories. You can choose to have all photographs digitally delivered to you, or receive prints. Canvases are awesome as you walk around the home and remember ‘those days’. Or you can choose a keepsake book, a book of photos that opens like an accordion, and fits into your purse. Perfect for grandma to show off her little grandson/grand-daughter. |
