Army Promotion Ceremony Album for Army OfficerI always get excited when it's time to design and create an album from a military ceremony. This heirloom album was designed for a promotion ceremony that was held in Washington D.C. at Fort Lesley J. McNair for Col Perez-Marsden. This album is so luxurious by sight and touch. It has two leathers/materials combined into one to create a unique and custom album.

Army Promotion Ceremony at Inter-American Defense CollegeA few weeks ago, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Perez-Marsden contacted me to determine my available to photograph her promotion ceremony in Washington DC at Fort McNair. We schedule a time to talk, so I could learn her wishes and vision for the upcoming promotion ceremony. Thankfully, I was already scheduled to be in Northern Virginia for another event, so I was thrilled to be a part of her ceremony by photographing it.
As a military member serving in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, there are so many beautiful locations/venues for a military ceremony. In addition, it’s easy to forget these great memories that will be photographed and captured during your promotion or retirement ceremony; especially when the pictures are locked away on your laptop, smartphone or social media.
“I just want the digital files” …that’s an email I recently received. Unfortunately, many photographers here these words more often than we care to admit. However, printing your military ceremony pictures and hanging them in your home, you’ll be able to see, enjoy, and remember them every day. Congratulations to Lieutenant Colonel Wood! He is one of the Army's newest promotees. Major Wood arrived at The National Archives Museum with his family to greet his friends and guests who were in attendance for his ceremony. Military Ceremonies held at The Archives are special because of the documents held inside the Rotunda as well as being able to document the ceremony with photographs.
f you've visited the National Archives Museum in Washington D.C., you're aware that photography is not allowed within the museum. Therefore many military members and their families are excited to be able to document these memories with pictures. Today, I had the honor of photographing Major Turner's promotion ceremony, an Army Officer, in the Rotunda of the National Archives Museum in Washington D.C. Major Turner was surrounded by her husband, Mom, siblings, and other family and friends. This promotion ceremony was extra special, because this was the first time her family (outside of her husband) was able to witness her promotion.
